Melinda is a member of the Family Law, Litigation and Debtor/Creditor sections of the Oregon State Bar, and is a member of the American Bar Association and Oregon Women Lawyers. She is a noted speaker on the subject of trial preparation and non-judicial foreclosures, and her materials have been published by the Professional Liability Fund, the organization which provides professional insurance to attorneys in Oregon.
Melinda is also active in the Central Oregon community. She is a member of the Leadership Bend Class of 2012, a Bend Chamber of Commerce leadership development program designed to identify, educate, train and connect willing and committed citizens to leadership roles in our community. Melinda served for four years as a founding board member, secretary, and chair of board development for First Story, a non-profit organization that serves affordable housing needs throughout the Northwest. She currently serves on the OSU-Cascades Sports Task Force to bring collegiate and club sports to the OSU-Cascades Campus in Bend. She has also served as a PTA board member at her children’s elementary school, and has served on the board of directors for Compass Church in Bend.
Melinda received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at Oregon State University in 1989, and her law degree from the University of Kansas in 1993. She was originally licensed to practice law in Washington State in 1993, and has been licensed in Oregon since 2005.
