Alan R. Dale focuses his practice in municipal law. Mr. Dale is experienced in drafting ordinances and agreements, researching and adjudicating municipal code provisions, completing real estate transactions, and navigating regulatory regimes that result in efficiency and cost savings to his clients.
Prior to joining BLJ, Mr. Dale served as a law clerk for the City of Bend assisting the city attorney on a variety of municipal legal matters involving land use, water law, public records law, and municipal law. Mr. Dale also served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Josephine H. Mooney in the Lane County Circuit Court. While in law school, Mr. Dale served as a research assistant for Professors M. Thompson and M. McAlpin, was a legal research and writing tutor, and was the lead researcher for the school’s “Competition Not Conflict” ADR program.

Mr. Dale is proficient in Spanish reading, writing and speaking. He spends his free time with his wife and two kids on outdoor pursuits, particularly rafting, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, and rock climbing.
